Amid Japan’s ongoing demographic shift toward an aging society with a declining birthrate, chronic labor shortages and rising personnel costs have become pressing issues. As one solution, DAIHO is actively promoting factory automation (FA) through labor-saving robotics.
By adopting these technologies, we aim to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and support the creation of a more sustainable manufacturing environment.

At our manufacturing sites, the robots in operation can be broadly categorized into two types:

・Collaborative Robots (Cobots)

As the name suggests, these robots “collaborate” with humans. Also known as cobots, they are designed to work safely alongside people, often replacing simple or repetitive tasks. A key feature of cobots is their ability to directly interact with humans—for example, passing parts or tools—enabling true human-robot collaboration on the production floor.

2. Improved Production Efficiency and Cost ReductionOptimizing the coordination between molding and assembly minimizes intermediate transport and temporary storage. This shortens takt time, reduces material loss, and maximizes productivity while keeping total costs low.

3. Flexible Production and Labor Reduction With molding technologies and automation systems capable of handling a wide variety of products, the line can quickly adapt to demand fluctuations and product specification changes. By minimizing manpower, it also addresses labor shortages effectively.

Integrated Robotics, DX, and Power BI Technologies

Our proprietary robotics technology is fully integrated with digital transformation (DX) and Power BI to visualize all operational data. This visibility is actively used to analyze defects and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
At DAIHO, we don’t stop at simply reducing manpower or improving the work environment through automation—we take it further by visualizing the digital data generated, using it to fuel the next round of improvements. This ongoing cycle of analysis and enhancement is a key part of DAIHO’s overall strength.

With numerous staff and factories across our organization, and a diverse global customer base, we understand the importance of consistency in both capability and service. While we are actively promoting various automation initiatives, we believe that discrepancies in knowledge or response quality between different staff members or locations must never occur—especially when responding to customer inquiries.
To ensure this consistency, we have established the Automation & Robotics Office at our mother factory in Konan, Shiga Prefecture. This centralized team is responsible for developing and maintaining a system that allows every DAIHO factory and representative to deliver the highest-quality robotics solutions.
