In March 1937, on the brink of the Second Sino-Japanese War, during a time of national uncertainty and upheaval, 23-year-old founder Tsuyoshi Kimoto established DAIHO Shokai in Daihoji, Osaka. With a capital of just 190,000 yen and a strong sense of purpose, he took the first step into manufacturing by launching the sale of electrical insulation materials.
During the 1940s, even while contributing as a support factory to the wartime aircraft industry by performing secondary processing of molded products, the company steadily built up its molding expertise. After the war, during Japan’s period of reconstruction, DAIHO found new opportunities in the civilian market, including with Mitsubishi Electric.
In 1951, the company introduced Osaka’s first domestically produced injection molding machine and officially launched its injection molding division. By 1960, DAIHO had constructed the Yodogawa Factory in Moriguchi City—now the company’s headquarters—establishing a full-scale production base.
etween 1967 and 1970, new factories were opened across Japan in Tottori, Fukuoka, and Nasu. Riding the wave of Japan’s high economic growth, DAIHO rapidly expanded its presence in the plastics molding industry.
Over the decades, the company has overcome numerous social and technological shifts, building a nationwide network of production sites. At the root of this journey lies an unwavering pioneering spirit—dedicated to meeting the needs of each era and becoming a company truly “needed by its customers.”

In 1978, DAIHO INDUSTRIAL made its first step toward global expansion by establishing TYLON (S) PTE. LTD. in Singapore. Responding to strong requests from major clients expanding their operations globally, we took on the new challenge of entering overseas markets. This bold move, launched with an unprecedented investment of 3 million Singapore dollars at the time, became the foundation for our future expansion across Asia.
During the 1980s, we strengthened our production systems both domestically and internationally. We introduced full-scale Kaizen initiatives, advanced our processing technologies, and established research hubs—building a solid foundation from both technical and on-site perspectives.
In 1989, two major milestones occurred simultaneously: the opening of our Kuala Lumpur plant in Malaysia and the Otawara Factory in Japan. By 1998, we had spun off our extrusion business to form TYLON Co., Ltd., and launched operations at our Laguna Factory in the Philippines. From Japan to Asia, our molding technologies became the driving force behind rapid business expansion.
This era, fueled by global shifts and customer collaboration, marked a significant turning point in DAIHO's journey—accelerating our growth and setting the stage for our continued international success.

In the 2000s, building on its business foundation established across Asia, DAIHO INDUSTRIAL expanded into new regions such as the Czech Republic, the Philippines, and Indonesia. In the United States, the company secured a patent for its proprietary PIM (Pulp Injection Molding) technology and launched its recycling business, accelerating its global expansion on both technological and network fronts.
However, the 2008 global financial crisis (Lehman Shock) brought an unprecedented headwind that shook the global economy. DAIHO, too, faced the urgent need to adapt and restructure. Even amid this challenging environment, the company never halted its overseas expansion, continuing its march forward with renewed vigor toward Europe and North America.
Following this, DAIHO reinforced its presence in North America and reorganized its group structure, laying steady groundwork in a time of constant change. In 2020, another major disruption arrived — the global COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, armed with strong local responsiveness and adaptability, DAIHO overcame this trial and remains committed to pioneering new frontiers into the future.
