Product Development Group, TYLON Corporation, Hirakata Factory

Established in 1973 as a real estate management company for DAIHO INDUSTRIAL, TYLON began manufacturing and selling HVAC components in 1998. Today, under the TYLON brand, the company develops, processes, and sells equipment for HVAC systems and air distribution products that enhance comfort in commercial and residential spaces. We spoke with a senior employee from the Product Development Group at the Hirakata Factory about her work and the rewarding experience at TYLON.

Always Full of Energy—An Aggressive Job Hunt, Too

E.M.’s bright energy lights up any room—like a sunflower. With a woman’s unique perspective, she’s now driving product development. From a young age, she was full of energy and constantly on the move.

“I was always energetic. I loved running and joined the track team in junior high, where I competed in sprints, hurdles, and relays. I even ran in an ekiden. In high school, I focused on hurdles and kept working hard at relays too. I just loved to run.

Later, I entered the Faculty of Science and Engineering and majored in life sciences. As a ‘rikejo’ (science-loving woman), I spent my days peering through microscopes studying various organisms. I stepped away from athletics to take part in volunteer activities, serve as a karate team manager, and help run the sports council.”

So what led this high-energy woman to choose DAIHO INDUSTRIAL and TYLON?

“I first came across DAIHO on a job-search site while looking into companies in the chemistry field. I attended an info session and just got more and more interested until I really wanted to work there.”

She was especially drawn to the company’s global operations and its active support of the elderly and people with disabilities through a farming initiative called "Tylon Farm."

“In university, I worked part-time supporting children who struggled to attend school. So TYLON’s emphasis on inclusive employment really resonated with me. I thought, ‘What a caring company.’

Once I made up my mind, I started sending emails to the recruitment team, asking for interviews and the chance to speak with current employees. Eventually, I was introduced to someone in product development at TYLON—and the rest is history.”

From Headquarters to TYLON: Gaining Experience

After graduating, E.M. joined DAIHO INDUSTRIAL headquarters. After a year of training, she was assigned to the product development division at TYLON in her second year.

“At first, there was just so much to learn—working with 2D and 3D CAD day in and day out. It was completely different from the research I did in college, so I definitely felt lost at times.

But I love learning new things, and before I knew it, I could handle complex simulations. These days, I split my time between the office and the production floor. When making prototypes, I consult with the factory team and get their advice to move projects forward.”

E.M. works to bridge customer needs and the realities of production, developing products that satisfy both sides.

“TYLON uses on-the-job training (OJT), so my manager coached me one-on-one from scratch. Thanks to that, I can now handle everything from CAD to simulation.

Once you’re assigned to product development, you get a lot of autonomy. I manage my own task list and schedule trial production freely. Now I can’t help but scan ceilings whenever I go to a restaurant or store—I’m always checking duct placements, condensation risks, and possible improvements!”

Helping Connect Employees Through the Company Newsletter

Alongside her daily efforts in product development and sharpening her technical skills, E also takes on the editing and production of the company newsletter.
“I took over the newsletter from my previous manager, but it actually started when one of our directors directly asked me, ‘Want to give it a try?’ I immediately said, ‘I’ll do it!’ Since it’s part of my regular duties, I work on the newsletter while handling my usual tasks at the office.
The DAIHO Group publishes its company newsletter four times a year. Editors from each company meet twice a year to exchange ideas, share updates, and present the latest product news—so here at TYLON, we can’t afford to fall behind. Reading the newsletter sparks inspiration and makes me eager to absorb new technologies and innovative systems.”

The newsletter also features a page where employees can freely write about their interests. E sees this as a powerful way to go beyond company boundaries and highlight the people who work at TYLON.
“It’s a great opportunity for others to get to know what kind of people are in each group. That’s why I prioritize reaching out to those who’ve never been featured before, especially new employees and younger staff, so their personalities can come through.
We also include happy news like new babies or weddings—things that many people enjoy reading. Of course, we also publish messages from the president of DAIHO INDUSTRIAL, and those are often read closely.
Balancing newsletter duties with my regular work can be tough, but when someone tells me, ‘I really enjoyed the latest issue!’ it makes me so happy. It’s a rewarding job, and I truly enjoy doing it.”

A Close-Knit Team That Feels Like Family

“The best part about working at TYLON? The people. Everyone is incredibly friendly and supportive. I’m in product development but often hang out with colleagues from other departments too.

Also, TYLON is a great place for women. Some female employees have even moved from office work to manufacturing because they asked for the opportunity. This flexibility is a huge part of what makes TYLON special.”

TYLON, like the larger DAIHO Group, hosts many social events that build relationships across departments and factories.

“New Year parties, summer events, bowling tournaments, and the 'Sasayama' education retreat and relay race are great networking opportunities. They help us broaden our perspectives beyond our own factories and departments.”

What’s Next for E.M.?

“I’d love to develop a brand-new product from scratch. So far, I’ve mostly worked on enhancing existing products, but I’m currently working on a new idea inspired by market needs and customer feedback. I hope to finalize and launch it soon.”

The Kind of People We Want at TYLON

“There’s no strict mold for the perfect TYLON employee—every department has different needs. Good with computers? You’ll thrive in the office. Handy with tools? There’s a place for you on the floor.

What matters most is motivation. Even if you don’t have a clear career plan yet, if you can work hard and bring value to customers, you’ll do well here.”

For those interested in sales:

“Sales is key. It’s about uncovering customer needs—even the ones they aren’t aware of—and delivering real value. If you love talking to people and solving problems, we’d love to have you.”

A Final Message

“If you’re even a little curious about TYLON, apply! I came in with no experience, and now I can do CAD, development, analysis, and more.

Everything here—from the people to the work—is fun and full of opportunities to grow.

Come join us. Let’s keep aiming higher—together.”
