[Award] D-PIM® Wins at the Social Products Award 2026

“D-PIM®,” developed by Daiho Industrial Co., Ltd., has been selected as an award winner in the “Open Theme Category” at the “Social Products Award 2026,” hosted by the Association for the Promotion of Social Products (APSP).

About the Social Products Award (SPA): The Social Products Award is the first award system in Japan to focus on exceptional “social products” that contribute to the realization of a sustainable society, evaluating them from the dual perspectives of both social responsibility and commercial viability. Initiated in 2012, this year marks its 13th anniversary with SPA 2026.

Judges’ Comments (Full Text):

  • “D-PIM” is a product that significantly expands the potential of paper—a highly familiar material—and possesses the power to quietly yet steadily transform our everyday lifestyles. Their technological development in successfully realizing caps with oil resistance and high strength, moving from plastic to paper replacement, is highly commendable as a reliable technology that meets consumer expectations.
  • The advanced technological foundation of “paper injection molding technology” holds immense potential for a wide range of applications tailored to market needs, and we have high expectations for its future ripple effects across various industries.
  • Far beyond simple plastic reduction, this initiative is highly rated for both its social significance and future potential, serving as an excellent example of generating new innovation from paper materials.

Comment from Matsuzaka, Director of D-PIM Business Division: “In winning this award, we are highly honored that our technological capabilities—enabling precise injection molding comparable to conventional plastics while using paper and natural components as primary materials—were recognized for encouraging consumers to naturally transition toward ‘effortless plastic reduction.’ In particular, achieving a reduction in environmental impact for areas such as cosmetics container caps, where high airtightness and aesthetic design are strictly required and substitution has traditionally been difficult, is a source of great pride as a concrete contribution to building a sustainable society.

Building on the momentum of this award, we will go beyond the traditional business framework of BtoB material supply. We remain committed to taking on further challenges toward ‘realizing a circular economy’ where end-users can seamlessly and naturally participate in environmental activities within their daily lives without even being conscious of it.”
